Tarek Fadel, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, FADEL
As Chairman of the Board and CEO, Tarek Fadel is responsible for the overall management and performance of FADEL, driving its long term strategic plan as well as overseeing the day-to-day management of the corporation. Prior to founding FADEL in 2003, Tarek was a Director of Consulting at Oracle Corporation with over 20 years of experience building, selling and implementing enterprise software applications. He managed a consulting practice for Oracle responsible for the success of several large client implementations, and held the position of Director of Product Management releasing several Oracle CRM products. Tarek also worked at Cambridge Technology Group and played a major role in deploying its enterprise application server products to the market. Tarek holds a technology patent for his work on Method and Apparatus for e-Commerce Integration Architecture and Process. He has a bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Science from the City University of New York and an MBA from Columbia University.
Kenneth P. West, Former Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. and Marvel Entertainment, Inc.
Ken West served as Chief Financial Officer of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. (MSLO) which he joined in September 2011 and stayed through its successful sale in December 2015 to Sequential Brands Group. In his position, Ken was responsible for all aspects of the company’s financial operations, while working closely with the executive team in shaping MSLO’s business strategy and capital allocation process. He also had oversight responsibility for financial planning, treasury, financial compliance and reporting, investor relations, and related functions.
Before joining MSLO, Ken served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Marvel Entertainment, which ultimately resulted in a highly successful sale to Disney effective December 2009. Prior to joining Marvel in 2002, Ken, a CPA, was CFO of two middle-market, privately held companies, and spent over 15 years with Ernst & Young, principally in the auditing division serving middle-market and entrepreneurial growth entities.
Ken is an Honors graduate of Carnegie Mellon University.
George Kadifa, Managing Director of Sumeru Equity Partners
George Kadifa is a Managing Director of Sumeru Equity Partners and brings three decades of operating experience in the technology sector to the FADEL board.
Prior to joining Sumeru Equity Partners, George was Executive Vice President, Strategic Relationships for HP. As a member of the Executive Committee reporting to the HP CEO, George was responsible for leading growth initiatives and alliance programs with key partners, service providers, and HP’s largest customers. He previously served as Executive Vice President of HP Software, leading HP’s $4 billion software business that includes IT/Cloud Operations Management, Application Delivery Management, Enterprise Security, and HP Big Data.
George previously served as Operating Partner at Silver Lake, a global technology investment firm with over $26 billion of assets under management. He was responsible for driving growth and operational improvement in a wide range of enterprises within the company portfolio of the firm’s large-cap investment fund. George has significant expertise building and managing technology businesses and has held various leadership positions at consulting companies such as IBM, Corio Corporation (founder), Oracle, Booz-Allen & Hamilton, and Xerox. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the American University in Beirut, an MS in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology, and an MBA, with Honors, from the University of Chicago.
Walid G. Mansour, Managing Partner, Middle East Venture Partners (MEVP)
Walid Mansour has more than 12 years of experience in venture capital and strategy & management consultancy, corporate finance, and engineering in the telecom, media, and public sector industries. Prior to joining MEVP, Walid was a lead associate at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants within their Middle East team, supporting the firm’s implementation and growth in the region with a focus on the telecom & media sectors.
Before Roland Berger, Walid worked as a strategy manager at the UAE’s Prime Ministry executive office focusing on long term public sector strategies and implementation plans. During his stay in Dubai, he worked on setting up entrepreneurship-related programs and developing incubation in the Arab World through several Dubai based initiatives such as the Mohammed Bin Rashid Foundation. Prior to that, Walid worked at Booz & Company as a consultant covering telecom & media and public sector industries across the region. Prior to Booz & Company, Walid worked as an industrial engineer in France within Altsom. In 2009, he completed Morgan Stanley’s summer associate program within their investment banking M&A division in London.
Walid holds an industrial and urban planning engineering degree from Institut National des Science Appliquées de Lyon (INSA de Lyon) and an MBA in finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Joe Gruttadauria, Vice President Worldwide Sales, Qstream
Joe Gruttadauria has a solid track record of building great sales teams – and customer relationships – taking each to new levels of productivity and profitability. Prior to joining Qstream, he led strategic sales initiatives for San Jose-based Clarity Consultants. Prior to this, Joe held executive leadership roles for several successful enterprise software firms including Peoplefluent, Softscape and Centra Software, as well as senior sales, service, and business development positions at Oracle and SAP. He has an MBA from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and served as an adjunct professor for the graduate school of business at Philadelphia University.
